A Personal Note from the team
What’s the story?

Giving you real numbers, clear guidance, and honest conversations—because that’s our responsibility to you.
Hello Family, Friends, and Valued Clients,
We hope this edition of What’s The Story finds you soaking up all the best that summer has to offer—whether it’s time at the lake or pool, adventures to new places, or simply enjoying quality time with family and friends. Summer always flies by, so don’t forget to stop and smell the roses.
That’s exactly what John’s been doing—soaking in Iceland’s misty landscapes, wandering through the charm of Scotland, and crossing the Atlantic in timeless style aboard the Queen Mary II. His latest travels are a great reminder that a change of scenery can be the ultimate refresh.

Back home, we’ve been reflecting on what keeps us grounded: speaking the truth, even when it’s not the easy answer. If you’ve worked with us at any point over the last 50 years (yes, it’s really been that long!), you know one of our guiding principles is to “tell you what it’s going to cost”—which sometimes differs from what you wish it would cost.
Our role is to be your trusted guide throughout the remodeling process. That means having honest conversations about cost, scope, and process—even when they’re tough. With that transparency, we can work together to make smart, informed decisions for your home.
HGTV can sometimes paint an unrealistic picture of remodeling costs—often underestimating them by 20% or more. Being upfront about those differences leads to more meaningful conversations, better planning, and ultimately stronger results.
We believe that’s one reason why so many of our clients return to us for future projects—and building those lasting relationships is one of our favorite parts of the job. It’s not just that the process goes smoothly—it’s the trust that comes from knowing we’ll be honest every step of the way. That’s what being a Truth Teller is all about.
On a personal note, we’re getting ready for our annual family trip to Madeline Island. With our growing crew—including siblings, kids, and dogs—it’s sure to be full of action, cold-water swims, and (hopefully!) a bit of relaxation and recharging, too.
Until next time, we’re wishing you a fun, safe, and joy-filled summer—from all of us at Sylvestre Remodeling!
Warmly,
Marc and John
